Thankful for a great Design

I have been surrounded by a very fine design this whole weekend as I visited my friends up in the Bay Area.
Beginning with their house they have designed, well we all put some thoughts into in and continuing with Petra’s new watch that I have felt in love at the first sight, everything there is in a balance.
Even the kids running around at Marre’s birthday party were so stylish in this family oriented little upscale San Francisco’s neighborhood of Mill Valley. No “Ross kids” around to be precise :)
And yesterday after we walked the showrooms of Room & Board store to pick new kids’ beds and later taking shower in the heavenly “rain” feel like bathroom I started to think what would I be if I am a designer piece, a timeless, never-get-old, pleasing object of interior design.

I think I will be a good solid wooden dinner table. Think Frank Lloyd Wright style…
Solid, century old table, maybe one of few ever made. One of those you find unique but cannot figure out why. They are not precisely pretty, there is just something about them, their scars, dents of the time and the imperfection makes it somehow outstanding and bold with hidden soul and stories. Perfectly functional, warm and fitting in almost any style and any house.

If I was a piece of design I can see myself like this table…being at different homes, tried to be matched with different chairs and benches yet still waiting for the perfect match to be found.

I love design and it calms me down and makes my heart sing if I run into something of my exact taste. So I order the new watch and I'm ready for more redesign of my home...
